I'm not expert on dental equipment, but I can say that, in hand, these IDM Series dental mirrors certainly feel like a professional tool. The textured twisted and finger indented handle is obviously there to accommodate quick and accurate manipulation of the tool; it does look good, but once you've got it in your paw you know it's not about aesthetics. The business end is all stainless steel accept the trade mark branded ILLUCO mirror surface. Which, by the way, is indeed distortion free and super clear. I tried to get that mirror to fog up, and it does for a fraction of a second. By the time it takes to rapidly pull it away from mouth, having blown a full wet breath on the glass, I can see the faint remnants of a hint of fog almost instantly disappearing from the outer perimeter of the mirror.Even the box feels like it is proud to be part of professional tool set. I got these for personal use in tooth health. I had one for years where the mirror had finally lost it's silver and come loose. And it had always had a fogging problem. I was really interested in these. They not only don't fog, but the handle is beveled which helps in gripping, and being able to turn the instrument while damp. The lens ensures true images with no distortion, while the water-repellent coating keeps the mirror surface spotless. Where this helps is in the double reflection your having to use, to see into your own mouth. It's tough to keep a tiny area clear in dental mirror and then again in the big bathroom mirror.My hubby grabbed one for use in his computer repair/construction. He's very please with the clear views he can get.I think the company might make better sales of one to a box for personal use. The multiple box is too expensive and unnecessary for the individual. But these sure beat the ones sold for non-doctors.

These really are crystal clear and much more effective at reflecting light onto the subject structures.

I went with 2X and they are a game changer.

The field of view, depth of field and amount of light allowed into the oculars is exceptional! The peripheral vision around the oculars allows for viewing of radiographs and seeing instruments or your bur block.
Not only do these loupes provide exceptional magnification, but are a BARGAIN! Thank you Illuco!

Wonderful magnification and clarity! If just there was a way to avoid fogging from breath and a sheet if small water droplets from cavitron , it would be awesome !! But overall VERY HAPPY !

These do seem to be more clear than the mirrors I had before (and still have) and I can definitely notice the improvement when these are in my hands. I can't vouch for the durability yet. Too new. I have high hopes.
