Angled Loupes Magnification Options
3.0x: Ideal for practitioners accustomed to wearing loupes seeking an ergonomic option.
4.0x: Perfect for precision-focused tasks in small areas, ideal for experienced loupe users who require an ergonomic solution.
2.1 Loupe Working Distance (WD) Measurement:
To ensure proper focus alignment, measure your working distance using the following method:
Posture and Alignment:
- For angled loupes: The person being measured should be sitting upright, looking straight ahead. This ensures proper alignment for accurate measurement.
- For TTL (Through-the-Lens) loupes and flip-up loupes: The person being measured should be sitting upright with the neck slightly angled down throughout the measurement process.
Tape Measurement: The assistant should use a flexible tape measure to measure the distance between the corner of one eye and the patient's teeth.
Perform multiple measurements to ensure accuracy, accounting for any slight variations.
2.2 Loupe Pupillary Distance (PD) Measurement:
2.2.1 Professional Measurement:
- Visit any local optician or eyewear retailer equipped with a pupilometer.
- Request a PD measurement taken at "infinity" (distance) for precise fitting.
- Inform the optician of your need for PD measurement for surgical or dental loupes.
2.2.2 Self-Measurement:
- If unable to visit an optician, you can measure your PD at home with the help of a friend or family member.
- Stand approximately 8 inches away from the person assisting you.
- Hold a ruler horizontally across your nose, ensuring it is aligned with the center of your pupils.
- Have your assistant take a picture directly in front of you with the flash on.
- Perform multiple measurements for accuracy and take the average.
Ensuring an accurate PD measurement will contribute to the optimal performance and comfort of your customized TTL loupes.
