The main difference is charging: the IDS-1100 uses USB-C, while the IDS-1100C includes a charging cradle and magnetic USB cable for convenient docking between examinations.

How does the IDS-3100 differ from the handheld dermatoscopes?

The IDS-3100 is a handheld examination magnifier offering 2.5x magnification and a broad 100 mm field of view for viewing larger areas of skin. The IDS-1000 Plus, IDS-1100/C, and IDS-9100 provide 10x–12x magnification for closer examination of smaller areas.

The IDS-3100 also includes polarized and UV illumination, a rechargeable battery, and a charging cradle.

Which models offer UV illumination?

The IDS-9100 and IDS-3100 offer UV illumination alongside their polarized lighting modes. The IDS-1100, IDS-1100C, and IDS-1000 Plus do not include UV illumination. Compare each model’s lighting specifications when choosing your device.

Can I take photos with my dermatoscope?

Yes. The IDS-9100, IDS-1100, IDS-1100C, and IDS-1000 Plus support photography using a compatible smartphone adapter. The IDS-9100 package includes a compact universal clamp; adapters for the other models are available separately.

The IDS-3100 does not support these camera or smartphone attachments. Contact our team to confirm compatibility with your phone before ordering.

Which models are rechargeable?

The IDS-9100, IDS-1100, IDS-1100C, and IDS-3100 use rechargeable batteries. Charging connections and cradle availability vary by model. The IDS-1000 Plus uses a replaceable 6V 2CR5 lithium battery and does not require charging.

What warranty and return options apply to dermatoscopes?

ILLUCO dermatoscopes carry a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to the warranty’s terms and exclusions. Rechargeable lithium batteries have a one-year coverage limit; normal wear, accidental damage, and improper use or cleaning are excluded.

Eligible purchases made directly from ILLUCO may be returned within 30 days of delivery with prior approval, proof of purchase, original packaging, and all included components in their original condition. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is defective or incorrect. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
