Pre-Cleaning Prep
Securely place dental mirrors into an instrument holder (e.g., tray or cassette) before cleaning.
Cleaning Methods
Manual: Wash manually using a non-corrosive, low-foaming neutral detergent.
Ultrasonic: Refer to the manufacturer's operating instructions and guidelines. Use with caution, as ultrasonic cleaning may degrade the performance of the hydrophobic coating on mirror surfaces.
Automated Washer: Refer to the manufacturer's operating instructions and guidelines.
After cleaning, thoroughly rinse dental mirrors.
Drying
Ensure dental mirrors are completely dry before autoclaving.
Autoclaving Guidelines
Follow the autoclave manufacturer's operating instructions and guidelines for sterilization. This product can withstand the following conditions:
- 5 minutes at 273°F (134°C)
- 20 minutes at 250°F (121°C)
- Do not exceed 277°F (136°C) to prevent damage
Storage
After sterilization, store the dental mirror in a clean, dry, and dust-free environment. Regularly inspect the mirror for signs of wear, such as scratches or degradation. Replace as needed to maintain optimal performance.
